Mother's Day

FOR YOU, MOTHER

As my first friend,
you introduced me to a life enriched
by your love and warmth ...
you shaped the way I feel about the world
and my place in it today.

Your confidence in me
helped me to believe in myself,
and your praise and respect
enabled me to appreciate my own worth.

You guided without control
and encouraged without pressure.
You gave your best ...
to bring out the best in me.

You taught me to think my own thoughts
and to follow my own dreams,
to be proud of my achievements
and accepting of my mistakes;
to find peace in each sunset
and joy in each sunrise ...
to love my life ...

You knew what to say
and how to listen
to help me through the rough times
and to make the good times
even more wonderful.
I took it for granted
that you'd be there when I needed you
... and you always were.

As I grew older,
I made many new friends,
but of all the kindness they have shown me,
your understanding is still the deepest,
your companionship the warmest,
and your support the most generous.

I thank you, Mother,
for all you have been to me ~
my first friend ...
and my best friend!

-Paula Finn

When you need someone
to stand beside you,
Mom is near ...
When you need someone
to hear your troubles,
She will hear ...
When you need someone
to share your burden,
She will share ...
When you need to know
that someone loves you,
Mom is there.

-Thomas J. Langley

A mother's love
asks no return,
expects
no reward ...
a mother's love
asks only to give.

A mother's heart
will always know
the feelings
words can't always show."

WONDERFUL MOTHER

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

- Pat O'Reilly

She, My Mom...

She is essence of womanhood; model of femininity.
Graceful and elegant,
Young with her school girl charm,
Wise with beauty that grows from eyes and to her soul.

She is the moral fiber and the undivided strength
of the family.
The true homemaker for she has made our home.

She is an Angel among men,
Light upon dark,
Rest among weary.

I love her for being herself and no one else.
When my eyes meet hers, I know what tenderness means;
For she is tender as the Summer breeze,
And as forgiving as a new day.

She is my mom; nothing more, nothing less
But simply the best.
- Vincent Alexander Caruso

Love they say is patient,
Love they say is kind,
It sees beyond others faults,
For love they say is blind.....

Love does not diminish
or rust and fade with years
But it will gain strength
from Time, laughter, joy and tears.

Love is God's own gift to us
A present from above
He gives us peace, He gives us joy,
But first He gave us Love.

M-O-T-H-E-R

                            M is for the million things she gave me,
                            O means only that she's growing old,
                            T is for the tears she shed to save me,
                            H is for her heart of purest gold;
                            E is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
                            R means right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell
"MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.
- Howard Johnson
